Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts- either by steam distillation or cold pressing from the flowers, leaves, roots, berries,, stems, seeds, gums, or bark of plants. They contain the properties of the plant. They are different from anything labeled perfumed oil, which are generally chemicals that do not contain the hormones, vitamins, antibiotic or antiseptic properties of a plant.
