Aromatherapy is the therapy of using the power of smell to control certain situations. When I was homeschooling, I heard that lavender was a good smell for calming. When ever my kids would be in an uproar, I would light my aromatherapy candle for calming and it worked like a charm. I think aromatherapy is a type of alternative medicine that uses essential oils from plants and even animal fats to treat certain conditions. For example, Tea Tree was discovered to have antimicrobial effects, that's why it can be used in creams and facial washes as a treatment for acne. Also, there's peppermint and camphor which are, when used, could clear a runny nose using an inhaler.
