A standard essential oil blend is between 1-3% dilution of essential oil to carrier oil. Anywhere within this scale is suitable for most adults, although certain essential oils are contraindicated during pregnancy and some aren’t suitable if you have a pre-existing medical condition.

Physical ailments generally require a stronger blend, so conditions such as arthritis and rheumatism will be at the higher end of this scale, whereas emotional issues can be treated with a dilution of around 1.5-2%.
