Many people find that Aromatherapy is very useful in helping them to relax, feel energised and to help with conditions. However, there is now evidence emerging that the essential oils can go through our skin and into our blood stream therefore the main mode of action is through smell. This limits the amount of things that aromatherapy can help with. In addition, many of the reputed claims about essential oils and there properties have not been proven in research therefore they are often based on oral use or the properties of the palnt as a herb not an essential oil. Oral use is not recommended by many aromatherapists here in the UK.
